My favorite kind of engagement session is when I get to spend an afternoon wandering spots that are special to a couple (especially when it involves pizza, books, and a gorgeous semi-cloudy afternoon). Tyler, an artist, and Rosie, an actress, have called So Cal their home for a number of years, but are soon leaving Los Angeles and wanted to have their engagement session at some of their favorite local Echo Park hangouts.  It is a major bonus when I get to work with souls as creative as these two.  Rosie doesn’t hold back, it was eye opening to see her nuanced expressions. These two had such a great vibe and were game for anything.  When I saw how perfectly their outfits matched the flowering tree, there was no hesitation when I asked them to get their heads up into the thick of the branches.

Yay!  A pizza joint with Vegan offerings!  And this mural at Two Boots pays killer homage to all things wacky and specific to the city of angels.

I don’t know if it’s because I was shooting a couple in love that made me hyper aware of all things romance related, but I kept seeing little wedding knick knacks that added to their story. Thanks to Two Boots Pizza and Stories Bookshop for letting us shoot!  Thanks to Tyler and Rosie, for being really awesome to work with!  LA’s going to miss you.
