When two musical geniuses decide to tie the knot, you’re in for a heartfelt, audio-oriented social experiment. Wendy and Carey, two members of the self-described ethnographic ghost pop band, Bitter Party, conceptualized their wedding as what felt like a series of mini interactive performances incorporating love, community, and sound.
Prior to entering the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts, all the guests went on a procession carrying polka-dot umbrellas, led by close friends in colorful capes.
What better way to announce the start of a celebration than firecrackers?
Non-natives to Los Angeles, Wendy and Carey wanted to incorporate elements of LA culture they have come to love.
Their friend was invited to conduct the guests to whistle “Here Comes the Bride” just prior to Wendy and Carey walking down their separate aisles.
Guests were invited to randomly shout out words they associated with Wendy and Carey, as their friend typed this collective stream of consciousness on a vintage typewriter.
In addition to Wendy and Carey’s vows, guests were invited to record and display vows to their own loved ones.
Cheers to this awesome couple, Wendy and Carey!!!!
